Originally from Opelika Alabama and raised in Beauregard Marc Kenney started playing guitar when he was only five years old with his dad.His mom invested in formal lessons for Marc when he turned ten where he studied folk music which taught him over twenty different styles of finger picking a guitar. Marc’s dad started including him in his band playing gigs in small bars at the tender age of fourteen. By age twenty-four he found himself playing clubs along the famous Beale Street in Memphis Tennessee and becoming a member of the Memphis Songwriter’s Association where he got to meet famous songwriters Keith Sykes, Pat & Pete Luboff, and many more.Attending the Guitar Institute in Memphis at age thirty majoring in music theory he took up Harmonica and Piano while he mastered his Guitar.
By age 30, Marc Kenney attended American Guitar Institute in Memphis, TN where he mastered the instrument and majored in music theory. He had also taken up Harmonica and Piano. Over the last few years, he has gone on to compete on Nashville Star (which he made the front page of the Nashville newspaper), written and recorded 3 albums, Pitched and put songs on hold with Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas. He is now playing clubs in Phenix City, AL, Auburn, AL, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Birmingham & Montgomery AL.. He has already sold a number CDs of his first solo album “South Of Hell”.
